Singapore Yacht Charter/A Taste of the Exotic
The tiny Republic of Singapore is a sovereign city-state separated from mainland Malaysia by the Straits of Johor to the north and from Indonesia by the Singapore Strait to the south. This island nation boasts a distinctly western feel peppered with Asian reminders. A superyacht charter in Singapore will conjure a taste of the exotic. Nowadays the republic is full with expats giving it the unfair nickname of “the nanny state”, but look beyond the urban metropolis to discover a fine land that will appeal to the outdoor enthusiast, shopaholic and food lover.
Singapore is unquestionably safe and clean; the government has imposed bans on chewing gum and spitting in public, you will find no graffiti on the metro system, or on walls, due to the high taxes on owning a car, very few traffic jams occur too. All this makes for a quaint stop on your charter.
Places of interest in Singapore to get away from it all are the Botanical Gardens displaying the beautiful Orchid. Established in 1960, this Victorian-era park, complete with its own swan lake is a stunning retreat in the heart of the city.
Next head to the modern day US1 billion 101-hectare Gardens by the Bay to witness fantasy bio-domes, high-tech super trees and fantastical sculptures. The Night Zoo is something to see too, to witness the goings-on of nocturnal animals. Outside the city head to one of Singapore’s islands, Pulau Ubin to see a wild jungle interior where dusty, old world streets lay in total contrast to the organization of Singapore itself – the perfect way to explore is by renting bicycles.
On a yacht charter, you can dock at one of two splendid marinas – Raffles Marina or The Republic of Singapore Yacht club. Only plan to stay a night or two before heading out to explore the surrounding islands for picture perfect beaches and clear seas. Destinations Pulau Ubin/ Singapore
