The Philippines Yacht Charter / A Fusion Tribal Culture & Island Cities
The Philippines comprise near on 7200 islands, making it the second largest archipelago in the world – an excellent superyacht charter destination. Each of the islands are a fusion of turquoise waters, green dense jungle, a tribal culture, remote villages and bustling island cities. It is possible to fly straight in to the capital of Manila; spend a few days acclimatizing and exploring the nation’s largest city. Enjoy the nightlife, the shopping and the food. It can feel like a bit of shock to the system with its skyscrapers and busy business scene – but well worth the look.
Next head out to the islands for some R&R. Apo Island is small – around 12 hectares in total. It has one beachside village and electricity is only present in the evenings. The diving is fantastic and relatively untouched.
Head out to the extreme of the Philippines with a trip to the Batanes. An area comprising 10 islands floating near to Taiwan. Only three islands are permanently inhabited, the rest are a fusion of extinct volcanoes, rugged cliffs, fertile pasture land and white sand beaches fringed with turquoise waters. There is only a small window to visit these islands and that is between March and May to try and avoid the frequent typhoons that batter the area.
To see the cute bug-eyed tarsiers and the majestic Chocolate Hills, head to the province of Bohol – located not too far from Cebu, this province is another wildlife- and adventure-lover’s paradise. Destinations Betanes/ Bohol/ Cebu/ Manila.
