Nordic & Arctic / The Land of the Mid Night Sun

Today, there is more and more demand for expedition yachts to make the voyage to the top of the world and embark on a Nordic or Arctic yacht charter. The Nordic countries are regarded as Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden including their associated territories of the Faroe Islands and the Aland Islands. Each country is vastly different and a yacht charter taking in the entire region isn’t possible on a two-week itinerary but if you have longer, exploring this region will be a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The season is also quite short here and to experience the midnight sun, the best time to go is around the summer solstice – in the Arctic Circle this is between June 12 and July 1, the further north you go the longer the period is. There is also the phenomenon of White Nights, where the countries a little lower than the Arctic Circle will experience a midnight twilight meaning that activities such as reading are still possible without artificial light. Nordic & Arctic – Cruising
