Although born in Manhattan, N.Y., Joe Majcherek is basically a South Florida native having been raised fishing and boating on the waterways and beaches of Ft. Lauderdale. After college at University of South Florida in Tampa, he worked in Ft. Lauderdale's restaurant/nightclub business until 1989 when friends in the marine trade encouraged him to join a new yacht brokerage firm, Gold Key Yacht Sales. A passion for water-sports and enthusiasm about boating helped launch this career.

In 1991 he was invited to join Gilman Yachts in Palm Beach where his first office was at the Sailfish Marina on Singer Island. Through the 90's he was an active participant the Palm Beach brokerage culture and regularly involved in the offshore sport-fishing community. The year 2000 brought a new office, location, and partnership to Gilman Yachts where Joe joined Jeff Stanley, then representing Diaship of North America and formerly of Woods and Oviatt. Gilman Yachts of Ft. Lauderdale hit the ground running and has been a growing success story. In 2006, the purchase of a new office on SE 17th Street enabling an increased and diversified staff of seasoned brokers has further solidified the firm.

Being an avid diver and fisherman, his extensive boating travels throughout the Caribbean and Eastern Seaboard provides his clients with the benefits of experienced advice. He has also had extensive experience with assisting clients outfitting and exporting boats to exotic locations throughout the world. Personalized service, during and after the sale, has earned him many return customers & referrals. His friendly manner and honesty have built him a solid reputation amongst clients and those in the industry.
