Company History

Very little is known about this boat builder, however some information has come to light by lovers of Roughwater boats. Its first official year being founded was 1969, when an all-wood 35ft model was built. Three years later, that same boat was built with a fiberglass hull, and an all-wood 41-footer was built. Around 1975, the 41 Pilothouse was built with a fiberglass hull and in 1979, the fiberglass deck was constructed. Around 1986, the company came to an end however a few more boats such as sailboats, sport fisherman, and flybridge motor boats came out of the CC Chen boatyard in Taiwan under special order. Later, Mickelson Yachts came into the 46ft Roughwater and had some models built under its name.
