Company History
Dick Peterson and Patrick Sullivan made a name for themselves in 1981 by simply building their own boat when they founded Mikelson.
Through hard work and determination, they began building a strong reputation for themselves, along with more and more boats. Now going strong for over 40 years, the Mikelson company was born.
The yard’s mission is to build top-quality semi-custom cruisers and sportfishers, and because the company is factory-direct, they are able to save customers from a 30%+ markup. The company has won numerous awards for its boats, including the Bisbee Black and Blue Tournament and the Catalina Classic Tournament awards.
The boatyard is a full-service operation, so the relationship continues long after a sale, with training, servicing, electrical work and diesel work – making the transition into ownership one that the client will remember for a long time to come.
