Company History

Founded by Carson R. “Buddy” Davis, legendary North Carolina boat builder known for producing the “Carolina flare”, Buddy Davis boats are known for slicing through water.

Accredited for building over 350 boats, Buddy Davis himself brought yacht-quality finishes to his custom-built vessels. He began his foray into boating as a mate on fishing boats starting at age 13. Davis created his boats with wood, molded fiberglass, and cold-molding glass-over-wood techniques that created strong, yet lightweight vessels. At its highest point in history, the shipyard manufactured 30 sportfishing yachts in one year.
