COMMENTS AND NOTEWORTHY FEATURES

A very special yacht from design to functionality, GRACE E is truly unique. She is an impeccable blend of craftsmanship and technology. Owner’s requirements were for comfort, space and performance, but to also be in alignment with a Zen lifestyle.  Their goal was achieved by naval architect Phillipe Briand and interior designer Remi Tessier.

With a focus on wellness and healthy living there is a complete wellness deck with massage room, steam sauna, full gym, treatment room with hydrotherapy bath, a cold dip pool and dry sauna on the top deck, Also on the wellness deck forward is a private lounge/observation area and aft a sunbathing area with Jacuzzi and service bar. One deck down on bridge deck level is a saloon for beauty treatments. On main deck there is a 3.5 meter varying resistance current pool for swimming.

Part of the build requirement called for quiet and smooth operation, which has been achieved with diesel electric power and ABB Azipod propulsion systems. This drive system makes her nearly silent when underway or pulling into port. In some areas of the yacht, sound decibels can be found as low was 43 Db. Having the Azipod system has also allowed for the installation of dynamic positioning, which allows the yacht to cruise ecologically sensitive areas and stay in place without dropping the anchor and damaging the environment. The Azipods have electric motors in their base and forward-facing propellers, which stop turbulences and vibrations found on a typical yacht with shaftline propulsion system. The pods are steerable and can turn 360 degrees, which makes the yacht very maneuverable. The diesel electric system allows up to all six generators onboard to be run as needed, this electrical system ensures maximum efficiency of each generator is being used; thus reducing use of fuel and increasing lifespan of the engines. At 12 knots she offers a range of 7,000 nautical miles. This system offers the security of redundancy and reliability.

Designer Remi Tessier was looking to create a relaxed minimalism on a grand scale, which was allowed by the wide beam, deep hull and plumb bow that gave him the space to work with. She has large openings, wide passages and high ceilings (nearly two meters in the master suite). The spiral stair well which wraps around the central elevator allows in wonderful natural light. In addition, Mr. Tessier also used materials which reflect light such as palladium leaf on the ceilings, stainless steel detailing on the furniture and gold threads woven into the glass panels of the elevator. The sycamore wood has been sand blasted, bleached and then polished to create the effect as if the wind, sea, sand and sun had created the finish.  Most of the loose furnishings are from the designer’s own collection, with many pieces being custom made. Other material used include, Makassar ebony, parchment, backlit onyx and natural and reconstituted limestone in overheads. There are hand woven silk wool carpets and leather tiles in areas of the flooring. The minimalistic detail is truly amazing.

In addition, the Owners required Grace E to be as green as possible, which the propulsion system, with its efficiency and dynamic positioning system, certainly has enhanced. A great effort was taken to not leave their trash foot print behind when traveling, so a very elaborate trash and recycling system has been implemented with glass crushers, paper and plastic shredders and plenty of trash freezing space.

The crew of up to 22 has not been forgotten. There is a very spacious 70 square meter crew lounge. In staying with the well-being theme, there is a crew gym/exercise room on the tank deck level. Crew also has access to the forward boat deck and aft tender garages without ever having to enter guest spaces, offering maximum guest privacy.

GRACE E is a true piece of art and one that every detail has been thought out. The other semi-custom mega yachts do not come close in comparison. Truly exceptional in design and capability.

VESSEL WALKTHROUGH

MAIN DECK

Aft deck

Starting aft on the main deck is the 3.5 meter current resistance swimming pool and two double custom sun loungers, this area also has removable sunshades. Moving forward you drop down to the lounge area, which has partial height glass wrapped around for wind protection, banquet seating on both port and starboard side and service bar forward on center. Aft on center in this lower area are steps leading down to the beach club/ tender bay area. Moving forward on both port and starboard sides are sliding glass doors entering the saloon. Outboard of that are external stairs on both sides leading to bridge deck aft.

Main Saloon/ Formal Dining

The aft area features four swivel chairs and a large sectional style couch. In the port aft corner is a 65” drop down and swivel TV. On port and starboard sides are exceptionally large bay windows; the ceiling is finished with palladium. Going forward is the dining area which can be arranged in two fashions; either two round tables seating six each, or the two tables can be connected and allow for 14 guests. Along both port and starboard sides below the windows is storage for china and table settings. Also in the forward and aft dining area is additional china and stemware storage.

From the dining area going forward to port is the main deck pantry and on the starboard side is the main deck guest foyer.

Main Deck Pantry

The pantry on the port side is fitted with a service elevator which can bring both staff and food service from the tank deck up through bridge deck. There is crew entrance door from the exterior main deck and interior crew stair passage to lower and upper decks.  The pantry is equipped with ice maker, microwave, coffee machine, commercial refrigerator and dish washer.

Main Deck Guest Foyer

The guest foyer is located on the starboard side main deck and has exterior access through double sliding glass doors. On the center of the foyer is the main staircase, which partially wraps around the guest elevator, which services the lower deck up to the wellness deck.  The elevator glass encasement has been detailed with very intricate gold weaving. Going forward to starboard is the main deck day head.

Main Deck VIP Staterooms

Forward from the guest foyer are the main deck VIP staterooms, each with double berths, very large hull windows and ensuite heads with showers and bidets. Each are fitted with a desk and two hanging closets, with covers that drop down electrically from the overhead, concealing the contents. There are night stands on either sides of the beds and storage below.

Main Deck Master Suite

On the main deck and forward of the VIP cabins is the Master Suite. This amazing full-beam suite with 2-meter ceilings is absolutely stunning. On both port and starboard sides are enormous picture windows. The bed is positioned on center; to port is a settee, coffee table and chair. On starboard is a desk facing out the window and two swivel chairs.  The master head is forward with bath tub on center and equal wash basins, toilets, bidets and showers on either side. Aft on the port side of the master suite is a makeup room/vanity and full wall-in closet. On the starboard side aft is a walk-in closet, double the size of the port closet.  Part of the closet can be locked off for storage of owner’s personal belongings during charter.

BRIDGE DECK

Bridge Deck Aft

The Bridge Deck aft is accessed from stairs leading up from both port and starboard side main deck. This area is also accessed via the central staircase or elevator. The entire aft section is fitted with lounge/sunbathing areas. On center is a dining table with seating for up to 12 persons. Moving forward you enter the full beam skylounge which completely opens to the exterior deck area via sliding glass panels. The deck between the interior and exterior is flush without a step over.

Once in the full-beam skylounge there are two casual tables on port and starboard; forward to port is a sushi/service bar and to starboard is a lounging area with  U-shaped and daybed sofa.

Forward on the port side of the Skylounge is access to the service pantry, emergency generator space and crew service elevator.

Moving forward on center of the skylounge you enter the guest foyer. On starboard is the spa treatment center, with hair washing basin with chair and separate chair for beauty treatments.  Moving ahead is the central guest staircase and elevator landing point. Beyond that on starboard you enter the captain’s suite with desk, full head and large windows looking out the starboard side. Also in the foyer going forward towards the bridge is the day head.
