Burgess is delighted to announce its appointment as sales agents for the 55m (180ft) Vitters ketch, MARIE. Her unique credentials masterfully combine thoroughbred sailing credentials with the highest level of superyacht luxury.
This instantly recognisable 55 metre (180.5ft) ketch was custom-built in the Netherlands to an André Hoek design by Vitters in 2010. Her masts were designed to carry a huge 3,300 sqm (33,500 sqft) area of sail, which can easily propel the yacht to over 17 knots. Her entire structure has been designed for smooth sailing, with a bulbed keel lending both swiftness and stability to her hull, which has been shaped and honed using the latest tank tests.
MARIE’s light, open-plan interior is comfortable and welcoming, with traditional features including miniature cannons, muskets and a suit of armour recalling the Golden Age of exploration on the high seas. A split-level saloon gives the first glimpse of the high gloss anigré finish that lends the interior its pale, golden ambience, illuminated by large skylights that filter plenty of natural light throughout the yacht. The deckhouse provides a relaxed bar and seating area, while a more formal setting below features a Steinway baby grand piano and an oval dining table.
