Celestial Hope is a 47-meter semi-displacement motor yacht built by Heesen Yachts. She has an elegant and sophisticated interior with a residential feel, inspired by the beautiful beach houses of the Hamptons. The open plan reception and dining room on the main deck feature a soft white lacquer finish on the walls and ceiling that makes a clear departure from the high gloss timbers usually associated with maritime design. When combined with the fresh blue and white colour palette a subtle, pared down, homely look was created.
A comfortable seating area is centred round a beautifully carved, limed oak table. Inviting sofas and armchairs are upholstered in natural linens, mixed with sumptuous velvets and metallic prints that lend a luxurious note. Glass panelling, designed and coloured to work harmoniously with the scheme, serves to visually divide the space and demonstrates the level of detailing employed. The majority of the furniture is bespoke designed and manufactured. The dining room boasts a stunning hand carved table in a pearlescent finish that works seamlessly with the satin fabric of the surrounding deep-buttoned dining chairs. Above hangs a dramatic Murano glass and nickel chandelier, its design specially adapted for the boat to complete the scheme. The elegant colours of the reception were brought through into the Master bedroom suite. Exquisite dark stained timber furniture was inlaid with mother of pearl and nickel detailing to contrast with the pale blue velvet chaise at the end of the bed and the crisp white bed linen. A working fireplace steers the design yet further into the residential direction and creates a cosy area, completed by a pair of armchairs. A fabulously spacious Master en-suite was designed with two separate entrances from his and her dressing rooms. Feminine details of crystal panelled doors and an églomisé dressing table top make a clear distinction between the two. Beneath Venetian glass mirrors, a pair of vanity units symmetrically frames a Corian free-standing bath that marks the focal point of the bathroom.
The remaining sleeping accommodation comprises of four guest cabins and a VIP cabin, each with their own individual colour scheme. With white as the neutral colour base, lilac, cornflower blue and red were introduced as accents to give depth and diversity. Every room reflects more of a residential than a nautical feel, achieved by our close work with the shipyard in designing considered, architectural detailing. Our designs for the mouldings, skirting, architraves and joinery all contribute to the homely feel.
The architectural detailing of the en-suite bathrooms resulted in sleek, luxurious spaces complete with the latest bathroom fittings, all carefully designed with storage in mind. They were considered down to every last detail, accessorising with embroidered monogrammed towels. Each bathroom was made individual through its choice of stunning marble or contemporary Corian to co-ordinate with the bedrooms and additional, eclectic touches such as carved glass Lalique taps or églomisé framed mirrors. Communal areas were given the same attention to detail. The walls of the internal staircase were clad in a hand-made metal finish with a beautiful trailing leaves pattern in moulded resin. From one reflective surface to another, the cloakroom was clad in tiny bronze, iridescent mosaics. The overall effect is stunning and works perfectly with the other shining surfaces of mirror, nickel taps and hammered chrome basin.
The exterior has four sitting and eating areas and two separate areas for sunbathing, complete with loungers, Jacuzzi and wet bar. White lacquered furniture was used throughout for a classic, elegant look. Built-in seats upholstered in outdoor fabrics made practical and comfortable areas for our client’s family to relax and entertain. Colour combinations are pared down, creating beautiful, calm areas where detail is added subtly, through contrast piping and bespoke, hand-carved leather cushions.
