Engine Room

The engine room has many features which are normally found only on much larger yachts.

One of the most appreciated of these features is that the entry into the engine room is not via a door in the master stateroom, or an open cockpit, nor thru a hatch in the floor, but thru a dedicated companionway.  Access is either from a protected exterior door for dockside maintenance or an interior door for inspections underway.   No need to ever bring tools and/or fluids into the living space while changing oils, etc.  And at sea, engine room inspections can be performed safely and conveniently.  Odors and heat from the engines do not enter the living spaces.

Owners Comments

Before purchasing MERIDIAN, we researched other trawlers, including the Flemming, Krogen and Selene. We eventually decided on Nordhavn and felt the N57 offered the best combination of features. After cruising extensively, we still think the N57 out shines the N52, N55, N60 or N62. Here are a few of our reasons why:

LOW PROFILE Sea kindly with an extremely capable and efficient hull design.

MOST COMFORTABLE SALON Amazing visibility whether sitting or standing with wonderful amount of natural light from 7 large windows. Additional natural light, as well as ventilation, from 3 doors and glass door to Flybridge (a skylight!). The galley is separate, but not isolated or obscured by a dry stack in the center of vessel.

DIRECT ACCESS TO ENGINE ROOM FROM SIDE DECK OR INTERIOR This is a extremely important feature when it comes to servicing or inspecting the engine. No more tools and oils in the living spaces; safe access when underway; heat and odors are contained.

STANDING HEADROOM AT MAIN ENGINE As well as easy access to all other machinery.

SECURE DECKS AND COCKPIT Waist high bulwarks insure safety at sea for a pet, child or adult.

GALLEY DOOR Greatly enhances airflow in galley. Enables line handling when docking on portside (normally difficult, if not impossible,
with an asymmetric salon).

Kayaks. Fishing gear. Pictures. Tools. Throw pillows. Avon inflatable. Torquedo outboard. Galley cook/serving ware. Fishing Equipment. Deck chairs. Salon chairs. Table lamps. Books. Bedding.

Binoculars. Handheld electronics. Personal items. Purchaser should understand that items on the vessel at time of viewing, but not specifically listed on this sheet, may not be included at time of sale.
