Description

Best value-priced yacht in the 85’ to 95’ class delivered 2005 or later!   Professional Captain & crew maintained with a list of updates & maintenance records available.  Pristine condition, low engine hours, and Owner’s willingness to sell at below market price makes this yacht an excellent value.

4 MAL is the result of the partnership between Johnson Yachts Company and leading naval architect Bill Dixon of Dixon Yacht Design.  Offering distinctive European design and progressive styling coupled with superb workmanship, this 87 provides the accommodations of a much larger yacht.
On the main deck, the salon, abundant with customized features, is furnished with high-gloss woods, an entertainment area, a dry bar, and wide, dual pneumatic sliding doors that lead to the aft deck.  Forward of the salon is the dining area, now furnished with a game table for two.
The stunning country kitchen offers a beautiful, well-equipped galley, an oversized, U-shaped leather dinette for 8 with full-forward, panoramic views through 180-degree wrap-around windows and a granite-topped service bar with flat screen TV.  The unique design of the galley, open above to the raised pilot house, creates a bright and airy atmosphere.
Four staterooms, each with ensuite head & shower, are below.  The Master is full-beam and amidships, offering the most comfortable ride.  The crew’s quarters, aft, with two crew berths, a separate Captain’s cabin, and lounge area, are comfortable and offer easy access to the full-beam engine room.
Providing excellent visibility for handling, the raised pilothouse is open to the galley on the port side and has an elevated, L-shaped riding seat and table for guests.  An aft staircase leads to the very large fly bridge fitted with full steering station, a large bar with 3 stools, and U-shaped seating under the fiberglass hard top. The aft section, open to the sun, is furnished with lounge chairs and a spacious, full-beam U-shaped seating area with dining and umbrella tables.
A special custom feature of the flybridge is the radar platform that drops back, allowing the hard top to be lowered, reducing the height of the yacht for passage under fixed bridges.

Walk Through

“4 MAL” may be boarded on either side from the aft deck that provides U-shaped seating around a varnished dining table, teak decks that extend throughout the yacht, an exit to the swim platform, a staircase to the fly bridge and access to the salon through pneumatic double sliding glass and stainless doors.
Entering the yacht through the expansive aft salon doors you are embraced by the warmth of the richly appointed exotic woods.  A masterfully created palette of African mahogany, cherry and maple woods are combined to a flawless high gloss finish.  Attention to detail is apparent in the multifaceted bullnose trims, fluted lines and artistic inlays.  Features such as cherry wood valances provide beautiful framework for the flow of the salon’s air conditioning system and are further complimented by the fluted lines of the sconce-lit lambrequins.  A large leather sofa and glass-topped wood cocktail table is to port with a writing desk and occasional chairs adjacent.

The brushed suede headliner is accented by two, mahogany-trimmed, overhead soffits with rope lighting.  A spectacular effect of light and mirror above the dining area with gaming table brings depth to the African mahogany trim work and the bronze alabaster light fixture and creates a spacious but warm ambience.

Forward of the gaming table is a custom built china and stemware cabinet with glass doors and recessed lighting above and storage for china, serving pieces and table top accessories below. Accentuating the lower cabinet doors is a spectacular matchbook starburst motif.  The cabinets also host a flat/plasma TV screen connected to a surround sound system. Additionally, an electrically-controlled, hinged TV lowers from the headliner on the starboard side providing a second viewing screen in the salon area.

Custom cabinets both port and starboard feature beautiful inlay detail. To port an elevated marble top bar with built in bottle holder provides ample storage. To starboard, another cabinet with matching wood inlays, provides additional storage.

The full vista through salon glass aft doors and expansive windows and may be enjoyed fully or may be screened by the Hunter Douglas Silhouette window shade system.

An second entrance through a water-tight door forward of the salon and to starboard welcomes you to a foyer with limestone and granite inlaid compass rose.  The day head, pilot house and companionway to the galley are adjacent.

The day head is finished with rich mahogany woods, a granite countertop with glass bowl sink and single lever faucet.

Forward, the raised Pilot House provides excellent visibility through wrap-around windows and is designed with an expert knowledge of effectiveness.  Although grand in appearance, the helm offers a very well-drafted design for functionality. The sophisticated decor includes ostrich leather helm seating and elevated L-lounge with hi-low table, an etched glass electric panel, mahogany and burl wood accents and panoramic window design.

The galley offers a family-friendly, “country style” arrangement. The full-forward, oversized leather banquette, encompassed by panoramic windows that offer an unobstructed, 180-degree view, features a custom dining table with wood inlay and a drop down center leaf, allowing guests easy access to the center of the banquette. Chrome bases provide the ability to raise and lower the table.  Adjacent is a serving bar, open to the galley, with a concealed, ceiling-mounted TV above. Galley fixtures include granite countertops, exquisite wood cabinetry, abundant storage, superb stainless steel appliances, an espresso machine, and wine cooler.  A water tight port side door provides easy access for crew and a privacy pocket door opens to the salon.

Forward and starboard of the galley is the queen VIP guest stateroom that features a unique blend of rich birds eye maple woods accented with mahogany trim. Designer fabrics perfectly complement the hardwood detail. The lavish appointments of this yacht are strikingly obvious in this decor, as well as in its ensuite head.

The Master suite and additional guest staterooms are accessed from the main deck via a stairway forward of the pilot house.  An illuminated niche tops the lighted handrail to the guest foyer and companionway. Forward to port is a twin berthed stateroom; to starboard is a spacious queen berth stateroom, both detailed with chic fabrics, polished marbles, graceful hardware, and refined wood working.

The king Master stateroom with his-and-hers head, located amidships for the most quiet and comfortable ride, is elegantly appointed with refined burlwood-topped African mahogany cabinets, wood-mullioned windows that extend the length of the room on both sides, etched mirror headboard, accent lighting, luxury linens, graceful hardware, polished marble and abundant storage.  Luxury extends into the ensuite head marble, granite, and wood surfaces grace the his-and-her vanity and a walk-thru shower featuring etched glass doors and multi-head spray.

The extensive, teak-decked fly bridge is accessed via a stairway from the pilot house as well as a stairway from the aft deck.  The covered helm station with two custom helm chairs is on the port side, just forward of a large, semi-circular, wood-topped bar with three upholstered stools. Adjacent is an extended U-shaped settee with high-gloss, hi-lo dining table and two dining chairs.  Beyond the hardtop, the aft section of the bridge is open to the sun. A full-beam, wraparound built-in seating area with two dining and two wood-topped umbrella tables, lounge chairs, refrigerator, and a new barbecue with storage beneath provide an excellent venue for entertaining.
