Broker's Comments

The Oyster 72 is a superb blue water cruising yacht, offering rewarding sailing, coupled with exceptional British build quality and a great layout for family sailing, with good accommodation for crew.   KEALOHA 8 was conceived and built for an owner who had owned Oysters previously, and he had a very clear brief, knowing what works best.  His new Oyster was to circumnavigate the globe and then to be used extensively for blue water.   In this mission she excelled and she has been skipper maintained throughout and updated through life as needed.   She is also coded for charter and is now offered for sale in full cruising trim and ready for more oceans.

Owner's Comments

Built for a very experienced owner with input from his professional crew at the time, KEALOHA 8 took part in, and won the first World ARC in 2007 and 2008. She has been used extensively, cruising, and chartering the Mediterranean and Caribbean, albeit with 2 separate winters in shipyards for refit work firstly in 2010 and then again in 2013. KEALOHA 8 has been professionally maintained by permanent crew since her launch and her current crew have been with her for almost 4 years.

Now unfortunately for sale due to family bereavement, the plan for KEALOHA 8 had been to spend 18 months circumnavigating South America via Cape Horn and the Falklands, and as such a huge amount has been spent on upgrades of equipment and safety gear on top of that already invested in her cosmetic upkeep. She also has a very comprehensive list of spares and equipment and as such is ready for either an extensive bluewater cruise or to return straight to charter market where she has previously been very successful.

RCD Status: The yacht conforms with the essential safety requirements of Directive 94/25EC (Recreational Craft Directive) and is categorised A – “Ocean”
