Construction and key points
The Emys 22 offers great autonomy; atlantic range and low consumption. The shape of the aft hull and the reduced inclination of the driving axles allow an excellent propulsive performance. The bottom works is equipped with a marked bow bulb and a v-shaped bottom with slightly flared bow above the water lines, which allows a good seakeeping, with very reduced pitching and rolling compared to other hulls of the same size.

Access on the boat is made through a foldable hydraulic gangway with a steel door at the end. Decking is in teak. Stern cockpit is aluminated with built in spots located under the prominent part of the Fly which bears tender and crane. Structural sofas with leather cushions, and storage zones, are situated on the cockpit sides. The boat holds 2 stern warps and 6 bollards – 2 at prow, 2 in the centre and 2 at stern. The manoeuvre zone is located in the prow area, with 2 hydraulic cranes with manual switches, as well as 2 watertight gates for access to the crew area and chain locker; the hatch going to the crew cabin is in plexiglas to allow the natural light to come in. On the bow side, 2 aluminium lockers are installed for warps etc.. The handrail, all around the boat, is in polished stainless steel. At the forefront of the wheelhouse a Portuguese bridge is located with a teak handrail.
Main living area
From the gangway, we have access to the stern cockpit, equipped with sofa and coffee table. We have access to the living area through a wide door with 4 leaves which can be completely opened and links the cockpit to the living area, allowing the saloon to be completely open to the cockpit. On the port side of the living area, we can see a structural U shaped sofa (see G.A.) a coffee table; on the starboard side a hand crafted cabinet comes complete with LCD 37” TV, retractable, (see G.A.) and Hi-Fi plant. The living area floor is in wood. Walls are also in wood with frames for the windows, protected by wooden Venetian blinds; the ceiling is made of lacquered panels with built in spots.
Access to the dining area is via the saloon, This area is raised by approximately 18cm., An oval shaped dining table with seating for eight. Kitchen: the kitchen is situated on the port side of the boat, This can be separated with a double sliding door in wood/glass, it is equipped with: cooking plate, Miele oven or similar, Helica hood, Miele dish-washer or similar, Franke sink, Whirlpoo microwaves oven, Miele refrigerator, lacquered furniture, Corian top and a retractable central worktop with 2/3 stools. The floor of the kitchen is in Crian wood. The walls in lacquered wood with frames for the windows, these come complete with wooden Venetian blinds; the ceiling are finished in lacquered panels with built in LED spotlights. The kitchen furniture is of a modern style with linear forms. A large window, which can be opened, extractor hood and blower allow an excellent ventilation.
2 pilot seats in leather, opaque instrument panel. The ceilings are finished in lacquered panels with lights and LED redspots for night navigation and emergency. The superstructure windows are all in toughened glass. The right side door going to the wheelhouse is (entirely) covered with wood with a built in window. A “dayhead” complete with WC and washbasin is situated near the pilot area.
Lower deck cabins
From the wheelhouse, we have access, through a turning stair and a corridor with courtesy lights, to 4 cabins: VIP cabin: . at the front, complete with a Queensize bed, wardrobes, bathroom with separated shower cabin. Two twin guest cabins: with 2 single beds (3rd folding bed in option) with central bedside table, a floor to ceiling wardrobe with partitions, shelf under the portholes, curtains or Venetian blinds in wood, LCD TV (decoding system in option) with Hi-Fi and radio plant. The guests cabins flooring is in wood. Walls are also in wood (G.A.) with frames for the windows, the ceiling is made of lacquered panels with built in (LED) spotlights. The furniture is of modern style with linear forms.
Located amidship, it has a King size double bed with lateral bedside tables, large walk-in wardrobe, a relax/reading sofa for 2 persons, wall LCD TV, vanity or laptop desk on the portside of the cabin. The bathroom is equipped with a shower with a glass door, washbasin, bidet, WC, mirrors and other small furnishings. The sanitary ware is finished in an ivory colour, the taps and bath accessories are of modern style, all from international and famous brand. The floor is in wood. The walls are also in wood with frames for the windows, covered with curtains of Venetian blinds in wood; the ceiling is made of lacquered panels with built in (LED) spotlights. The furniture is of modern style with linear forms.
The access is via a watertight forward hatch. The crew cabin has two beds and wardrobes. A separate bathroom with shower and a tiled floor, WC and built in washbasin with mirror. The ceiling of the crew area is covered with lacquered panels and built in spotlights. The walls are also covered with lacquered panels with frames for the portholes. Floor is in wood.
Amidship, it holds an accessible double-base where all pipes plants run. The engines room is fully equipped. The floor will be in sheet aluminium covered with anti-slip rubber, which can be dismantled, placed on a steel frame which can also be dismantled. The engines room is completely soundproof according to the highest standards of the classification register.
Access is made through a structural stair, on the left side of the stern cockpit, closed with a watertight hatch, On the fully equipped sundeck, beside the upper helm station structural sofas with “Ogni tempo” cushions are installed, together with a refrigerator, built in washbasin and cupboards for glasses and bottles. The sunbathing area is with cushions and deckchairs. The floor is in 12 mm teak. The crane located at the end of the sundeck. The 3.5 m tender is equipped with an outboard engine. An umbrella stora, bimini top type, is planned, partially retractable in steel and navy cloth.

At 22 metres long, UNICA offers an alternative way to live in harmony with the sea. Thanks to her steel construction, cruising is as calm and silent as a sailboat. Onboard, every single component, whether the main engines or the smallest of bilge pumps, are all mounted on special flexi rubber joints, and exhaust gases are filtered in such a way that noise is almost completely inaudible. Furthermore, to give UNICA the best reliability, the primary focus was put on functionality all the while not compromising on the design or brand.

UNICA was built with the concept of creating a “home from home” environment, where you can live all year round in comfort. Thanks to the under floor heating beneath the marble bathrooms floors, or the solar energy device which supplies electricity whilst at anchor. This greatly assists in reducing the use of the gensets.
UNICA is a yacht that “unites” even during long cruises, enabling everyone onboard to enjoy their time together. This can be seen by the choice of dining areas, one of which is next to the pilot seats which allows everyone to dine and enjoy the co-piloting together. There are four ensuite cabins onboard: an Owner’s suite, a VIP cabin and 2 x twin cabins, each of the twin cabins having Pullman style berth for the young ones.
The transom stern benefits from an innovative and spacious bathing platform which can be deployed when at anchor, thus allowing easy access to the tender, and to the sea.
