Broker's Comments

HEBE OF LYMINGTON is a simply stunning example of the outstanding Windy 44 Chinook. Offering perfect presentation, three cabins, very low running hours, a very complete specification, and epic manners at sea – she is a very rare brokerage opportunity.

The Chinook is no ordinary sports cruiser, but sets herself apart from the competition as a technically advanced “performance yacht” with serious sea-going potential.

Her deep-v hull design is truly confidence inspiring, with a soft, dry and comfortable ride even in more challenging conditions, giving those on board the confidence to use the boat more often and to venture further afield.

The Volvo IPS engine installation is remarkable, and the systems incorporation into the boat’s design is evident of the strong relationship and co-operation between Windy Boats and Volvo Penta.

The W44 also has a lot to offer below decks, and is one of the only boats in her class to offer three cabins and two shower compartments.

Owner's Comments

When compiling our “bucket list” of essential qualities for our first sports cruiser, we set some challenging criteria; a boat that would inspire confidence through great sea-keeping; a boat that would see us safely home whatever the weather; a boat that would cruise at high speed, yet return excellent fuel economy; a boat that would flatter us when maneuvering around a marina. On top of these essentials, we also wanted a vessel that would allow us to entertain six people in comfort and privacy, whatever the weather.

Having agreed her detailed specification, we kept a watchful eye on Hebe’s construction before sea-trialing her in Västervik, Sweden prior to her delivery to the UK in mid-2014. Since then she has been maintained regardless of cost, with professional valeting on a regular basis and full servicing to her engines, drive-train, generator and operating systems regardless of her low level of usage.

Hebe has fulfilled our criteria admirably. That she is also a beautifully designed, thoughtfully detailed and exactingly crafted vessel are bonuses that we were confident we were going to benefit from when we narrowed our choice of brand down to the Windy Design Team and they didn’t let us down. Our next motor boat will certainly be another Windy.

Windy are a product of traditional craftsmanship, enhanced with the aid of modern technology.  The latest technological innovation is the Wintec hull concept, which gives improved performance, greater strength and reduced noise throughout the vessel.

The hull is reinforced with advanced multi axial glass fibre matting and Divinycell core.  New generation Windy Boats such as the 44 Chinook are also built using vacuum- resin infusion which makes them lighter, faster and stronger.

All the Windy models are CE-labelled.  This means that Windy meets all the requirements laid down for quality control documentation and product liability within the EU. In the process of obtaining approval, the company has also introduced new methodologies, construction principles and more advanced construction production equipment, resulting in more cost – effective and quality oriented processes in – house.  But above all, Windy is a “Boat Builder” and not a manufacturer of boats, a philosophy, which characterizes their production staff and all those within their distribution network.

The cockpit is protected by the sleek hard top and enclosing aft canopy, which can be quickly removed on sunny days. During colder weather the cockpit feels well protected and can be warmed with the diesel fired heating system, making boating all year around an enjoyable and practical option.

The helm position is very ergonomic with excellent visibility whilst seated or standing. The co-pilot bench has space for 3-4 and keeps everyone up together on

longer passages. The chart plotter angle also adjusts helping to increase visibility and reduce glare.

The u-shaped cockpit design is a key feature of the boat and is hugely versatile. You have the ability to sit eight around the table, which can be adjusted electronically and is finished in a jet-style EDL finish. The table can be fully retracted to convert half of the seating area into a sun-pad.

You also have a cockpit wet bar to port, with a fridge and BBQ / grill.

The cockpit also has large amounts of storage, which can be found under the seating and in the alcove situated forward and to the port hand side. You also find a locking transom gate, which makes things safer if you have children or pets on board.

The bathing platform has three large storage lockers moulded into the transom. You also have a transom shower and bathing ladder.
