ABOUT WHIRLWIND

WHIRLWIND is a stunning design with the Andre Hoek / Holland Jachtbouw pedigree.  Her owners have not found the time to enjoy her and their loss will benefit the next owner.  Unlike most of the 80’ – 120’ sailing yacht inventory currently on the market, WHIRLWIND is priced to sell.  She offers three staterooms with ensuites and crew accommodations for as many as four.  European prospects should note that she is VAT paid. We invite inquiries and inspections.

Overview

WHIRLWIND is a stunning design with the Andre Hoek / Holland Jachtbouw pedigree.  Her owners have not found the time to enjoy her and their loss will benefit the next owner.  Unlike most of the 80’ – 120’ sailing yacht inventory currently on the market, WHIRLWIND is priced to sell.  She offers three staterooms with ensuites and crew accommodations for as many as four. European prospects should note that she is VAT paid. We invite inquiries and inspections.

Accommodations

WHIRLWIND offers three staterooms, each with tapered queen berth and head and shower ensuite.  Crew space forward includes two crew cabins to accommodate four crew.

The well-designed and secure cockpit may be the most important social space aboard.  Matching  port and starboard tables will comfortably dine with six while wrap-around seating will host the entire ship’s company.

The deckhouse is bright and open, distinguished by large uninterrupted windows. The raised dinette to port includes a view of the horizon.  To starboard is a working navigation surface, the galley is three steps down with abundant headroom and is easily accessible to the cockpit, upper dinette or lower saloon.

Two guest staterooms are aft to each side, another is forward to port.  Storage in each stateroom is suitable for long-range cruising. Berths are secure for offshore use. Well conceived features include  reading lights, floor lighting, portlights, and secure seating.  Aft staterooms include folding pilot berths.

The lower saloon occupies the full beam of the yacht with a circular seating banquette to port around a teak cocktail table and a full-function office area to starboard.  A large flat-screen TV is on the forward bulkhead.

Fit and finish is what one would expect from a shipyard that has built many of the finest sailing yachts in the world.  Teak, mahogany and maple finishes are combined in elegant fashion with satin and gloss as appropriate. Lighting fixtures, handles, latches, etc. are all of the highest quality.  Ergonomics important to a sailing yacht such as handholds and railings are carefully placed.

DESIGNER’S COMMENTS by Andre Hoek

“…built to our designs by Holland Jachtbouw as a timeless, high quality sailing yacht that is ideal for both family cruising and charter.  With a moderate displacement and draft, she has excellent sailing characteristics.  She was designed as a blue water cruising yacht with a timeless classic hull shape and more modern superstructure.  Her large cockpit and open plan deckhouse create a yacht which is not only perfect for cruising tropical climes, but also one that is equally proficient in high latitudes…”
