The Jeanneau-O'Day is a well designed racer or family cruiser. Designed by Phillipe Briand as the Jeanneau 40, released in Europe in 1982. Released in America in 1983 under license from Jeanneau.  This vessel does not look like other O'Day boats and has very sleek European lines. The American version a lead keel instead of cast iron and the entire boat has a beefier superstructure and is 1,200 lbs. heavier.
