Marmalade of Manchester is a performance cruiser where during the design phase the emphasis was placed on weight without a compromise towards the comfort on board.

Marmalade is simply stunning; with beautiful matching colour schemes that work perfectly with the furniture that has leather upholstery. The ceiling is finished in beige imitation leather. The walnut floor and handrails together with the maple paneling and frames are a perfect choice.

Three guest cabins sleep 7 and 2 in one crew cabin.

Engine and Mechanical

Perkins Sabre M225TI Turbo diesel, 6 cylinder 225 hp (165,38 kW) @ 2,500 rpm, 1.300 hours at January 2014.  The main engine is fitted out with a wet exhaust system with a Halyard lift silencer and water separator.
Twin disc MG5050 SC gear box
Max speed:    10 knots @ 2,300 rpm under engine
Min speed      9 knots @ 1,800 rpm under engine
12 liter/hour consumption
The engine room has added insulation and the outcome is impressive, particularly when sailing under power, as there is practically no vibration and an extremely low noise level.
Lewmar 30 TTH hydraulic tunnel bowthruster with twin propeller 30 hp

Amartech, Variable pitch propeller with Quant controls at both helm stations.
A galvanic isolator in the engine room.

For safety and ease of handling while docking MARMALADE’s main engine has a “docking mode”  button whereby the engine goes automatically to 1500 Revs so that on one hand the PTO gives optimum hydraulic flow to the bow-thruster whilst the speed of the boat is controlled by changing the pitch rather than revving up the main-engine. The perfect combination.

All tanks are located around the mast area. There is access to all tanks plus inspection holes-.
2 hull integrated double bottomed tanks located in the hull and keel, total fuel 2,350 liters.
Day tank 150 liters in the engine room with automatic fuel transfer pump and back-up system.
2,270 liters in 2 x aluminium tanks coated with non toxic epoxy
Grey & black water.
2 x Stainless steel grey water tanks, total 410 liters, one forward and one aft.
2 x Black water tanks, total 350 liters, one forward and one aft. All toilets empty first into this tank.
There is one hull through for the black and grey tanks, the safer solution.  There is a manifold for two pumps.

Accommodations and Interior

Marmalade has a very pleasant and easy to like interior. The color scheme of the warm deep orange leather upholstery with the beige imitation leather ceilings works really great with the walnut flooring and maple paneling and frames. The stitching on the sofas and seating is heavy leather stitching that gives it a sophisticated touch. The complete interior décor works very well together. The fittings and door handles are of brushed stainless steel.

Owners aft cabin with centerline king size-bed
Guest cabin at mid section with king size bed.
Guest cabin forward with queen size berth and Pullman bunk.
Crew cabin forward starboard with 2 bunk beds

Galley in the starboard passageway with the following equipment:
Frigomatic front loading fridge
Custom built 100 l stainless steel deep freezer, top-loader
Kitchenaid ice cube maker
Siemens electrical hot air oven/grill/microwave combination
Quooker instant water boiler
Siemens 4 plate induction cooker with fiddles
Siemens washing machine and dryer
A one tray fridge is fitted in the walkway from aft deck to cockpit, next to the port helm station.

From the cockpit we come down three steps to the light flooded upper deck salon. The large seating area on star board offers space for 6 people on the sofa and two on swiveling cup chairs that are built on the centerline. One can easily look outside from this position as the windows are on shoulder height.

On port side of the deck salon we find the two seated sofa in L shape, one seat looking forward and one looking to starboard. Forward of this L shaped sofa we have the two seated navigation bench and console that pops up and contains all navigation equipment. The navigator looks forward and has a half size chart table to work on.

There is a pop up TV located and built onto the bulkhead. The screen faces aft so everyone can enjoy the movies or TV that is presented through the Philips Home Theater equipment.

There is a 4 step staircase going down to the lower “ salon” where we have on port side the entrance to the queen size guest cabin with en-suite facilities. The en-suite bathroom has two doors and works also as a day head with the door facing the four step staircase. On the starboard side of this area we have two comfortable chairs, one facing aft and one facing inboard, with bookshelves covering a part of the wall.

The galley is half open and the work area is covered by a 140 cm high separation wall. This feature works very well and the mid-ships galley that is located low in the boat is great for cooking while out at sea. The 4 burner induction hob and all cupboards for crockery have fiddles. The washing machine and dryer are perfectly hidden behind a maple door.

Forward to port is where we find the second guest cabin with a queen size bed and a single Pullman above.

On starboard forward is the crew cabin with upper/lower berths, finished in exactly the same way as all other cabins.

The master suite is aft with a big king size bed on the center line. The mirror that faces aft becomes a TV screen when the TV is on. To starboard is a bench and to port a writing desk. The roomy en-suite bathroom is on port side with a stall shower.

All cabins are fitted out with opening hatches with blinds and mosquito screens, opening portholes, reading lights, CD player and DVD players. All cabins have lee cloths and plenty of cupboard space, all bathrooms have stall showers.

The engine room can be entered through a door in the galley. Nordia is known for a very high level of engineering and also Marmalade leaves nothing to wish for when one looks in the engine room. Manifolds are easy to get to, compressors easy to check and changing the main engine fuel filters is a simple task. This is build number 1085 and with 50 years of boat building few could teach the yard anything new. There is ample light in the engine room to work efficiently.

48” TV in owner cabin appears through mirror when turned on.
Pop up TV in the saloon concealed in bulkhead, connected to a PHILIPS home theatre system.
TV with DVD and CD player in each cabin.
Exterior Sony DVD/CD player at port helm station-
