ABOUT GUILLEMOT

Taken down to the bare hull in 1990, "Guillemot" was fitted with an all new house by Turtleback boat works. This impressive refit included replacement of all mechanical systems; wiring; tanks; bulkheads; cabinetry; decks; cabinsides; cabintop and trim. All the work is to the best boatbuilding standards. She's a salty and capable classic that is like new and appointed for comfortable, modern cruising. A unique and rare market offering.

Accomodations

LAYOUT FROM FORWARD: Chain locker is followed by the forward cabin, offering a double berth to port with storage beneath. Next aft and up is the pilothouse with steering, engine controls and electronics; dual sliding side deck access doors; and a settee aft to starboard.

Following and down two steps into the main cabin finds the galley to port, with handy dinette opposite to starboard. Enclosed head is aft with sink and integral shower. Finally aft and up is access to the cockpit and transom. Interior is clean throughout. New decor in 2007 is done in "proper nautical" white enamel in teak trim with durable upholstery fabric in red. Engineroom and fuel tanks are under the pilothouse sole.

Mechanical Equipment & Engine Details

1990 Yanmar Diesel Engine is freshwater cooled; electric start; wet exhaust; 2.2:1 reduction gear; engine alarm; control station at pilothouse helm; morse controls; chain and cable wheel steering. Shaft si 1-1/8 inch stainless; cutlass stern bearing; 18 x 13 3 bladed bronze prop.

Pumps include a rule 1500 1-inch engine bilge, and a gusher 1-inch manual at the forward cabin. Fire control includes a 2.5 lb. DC unit forward and a second 2.5 lb. DC unit aft.

Other Features/Notes

Hull was built by Chambers Boat in 1939 and is 1-1/8 inch yellow cedar on 1-1/4 inch by 1-1/2 inch bent oak frames on 9 inch centers. Beams are 1-1/2 inch by 2-1/4 inch on 12 inch centers. Deck is 1-1/2 inch by 3 inch; stringers are plywood. New paint in 2008.
