ABOUT MARIPOSA 3A

Just refitted in 2012, MARIPOSA 3a is a unique classic design in a style reminiscent of the great racing yachts and romance of the 1920's and 1930's. Her beautiful lines, classic sheer and deck house profile, are married to a modern hull shape and highly developed keel design, which create an extremely fast and supremely seaworthy vessel, capable of world-wide cruising in any weather.

Dutch workmanship, attention to detail, and a blonde teak interior with sculpted detailing and exquisitely designed curves throughout, ensure that the MARIPOSA 3a stands out in both style and quality.  A truly romantic and sensual yacht.

CONSTRUCTION

The hull and deck are welded aluminium constructed to American Bureau of Shipping regulations and the yacht has an ABS Hull Certificate. The keel is lead encased in aluminium and has been a highly developed bulb/wing form.  The deck and cockpits are hand-laid with teak and the pilothouse is clad in varnished teak. The deck hardware is a combination of standard Rondal blocks and tracks with custom designed and built cleats, fairleads, vent-cowls, etc.

INTERIOR

The interior has been beautifully executed in solid teak panelling with fabric-covered wall panels above dado level. The pilothouse immediately inside the companionway door and with its own chart area leads down to a full-width dining saloon.  The yacht sleeps 6/7 in 3 cabins with accommodation for 4 crew in 2 cabins forward.

ACCOMODATION

Owner’s stateroom with large shower room, bidet and vanity, desk, spacious hanging lockers, good stowage and centreline queen size bed. GALLEY

Situated on the starboard side aft of the dining area, is ideally designed to accommodate all of the amenities and conveniences of a fine kitchen in a home, and is a full sea-going galley with electric cooker and oven, micro wave oven, dishwasher and double sink.  There is a 300 litre custom refrigerator and 230-litre chest freezer.  With solid teak cabinetry and Corian counter-tops, this is not only an extremely functional area but also an aesthetically pleasing one to work in.

SALOON

A dining area with seating for 6 on port side and little table & sofa on starboard side front of the TV.  On the port side, adjacent to the seating area, is a bar with its own sink concealed under the surface and a U-line combined icemaker and cooler.  Aft of this, in the corridor to the owner’s stateroom, is the NAVIGATION STATION, the electrical breaker panels and a wet-gear hanging locker.
