Introduction

LEGACY had a huge refit here at Hinckley in Maine in 2003.  You can see some of the highlights of that refit in our Description.  Since then, she has been lovingly taken care of by her owner who lives and sails out of Charleston, SC.  He keeps her in our Maryland Service yard during the winter months – This boat is a prize for an older Bermuda 40.


 

Hull and Deck

  • Topsides:  Flag Blue Awlgrip (2005) with Goldleaf cove stripe and hail

Construction:

  • Solid hand laid fiberglass hull reinforced with additional laminations in all stress areas.
  • Deck is set in a 6" flange that is molded into the hull, fiberglassed and bolted to form a permanent hull/deck joint.
  • External lead keel with centerboard is fastened with stainless steel bolts.
  • Bronze centerboard is operated by a worm gear with override in case of grounding.

  • Replace all portlights with safety glass and rebed.
  • Supply and install custom drop-leaf cockpit table
  • New  stainless steel destroyer wheel with tan suede rim cover
  • Fabricate new cockpit pedestal guard
  • New cockpit cushions, and new sailing bimini – attaches to dodger
  • New Autohelm 6000-ST Autopilot with control at helm
  • New Horizon Intrepid VHF (installed in flush nav panel) with remote ram mic in cockpit.
